Popular NFL sideline reporter Devan Kaney is returning to league coverage three months after her dismissal from 94WIP-FM Sports Radio.

Kaney announced Tuesday that she will cover the Chicago Bears for Fox 32 News in the upcoming season. This announcement follows a previous mention by Kaney that she could "prob still catch me on Fox airwaves." She initially joined the station in 2022 and spent four seasons simultaneously co-hosting WIP's morning show and serving as a sideline reporter for the Philadelphia Eagles. Her tenure with the Eagles included their Super Bowl-winning season.

Her role was eliminated in April as part of cost-cutting measures by the station's parent company, Audacy. Kaney confirmed her departure at the time, stating, "I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time working there. But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens."

While leaving Philadelphia, Kaney confirmed she will continue hosting her Phillies podcast, "Werth Talking About."

Kaney's new role will have her covering the Bears in the season following their 11-6 regular-season resurgence and Divisional Round playoff appearance. The team's performance was marked by quarterback Caleb Williams' development under new head coach Ben Johnson. Chicago begins its 2026 NFL season on September 13 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fans had lavished praise on Kaney's 'incredible' work at the end of the 2025 NFL season

Kaney's dismissal followed a similar situation for Taryn Hatcher, who also lost her multi-sports role with NBC Sports Philadelphia, covering both the MLB's Phillies and the NBA's 76ers. NBC Sports Philadelphia stated at the time that the network was "shifting its storytelling approach to reach a broader audience."
