Detroit WXYZ-TV traffic anchor Ali Hoxie received a live on-air surprise from her fiancé, Jeff Adkins, on Tuesday, just as she was discussing her impending wedding.

Hoxie, 37, was in the middle of her broadcast explaining that Tuesday would be her last day before taking time off to prepare for her wedding when Adkins, 35, walked onto the set with a bouquet of flowers. The unexpected appearance led to Hoxie exclaiming in delight.

The couple met in 2018 when Adkins, a co-founder of Detroit Paranormal Expeditions, was featured in a story Hoxie was covering. Adkins presented Hoxie with flowers during the live segment, embracing her as she reacted with surprise.

"Oh my god!" Hoxie exclaimed. Fellow anchors Keenan Smith, Alicia Smith, and Mike Taylor reacted with smiles and laughter. "That's love. That is love!" Alicia Smith commented.

Hoxie, who joined Channel 7 in 2018 and was promoted to traffic anchor in 2020, was visibly emotional. "How am I supposed to finish reading this!" she said, gesturing towards the teleprompter, before joking about Adkins' ghost tour business. "He's been scaring me since 2018 with his ghost tours."

Adkins quipped, "You manifested me."

Keenan Smith added, "We wish you both the best. You are a wonderful couple." Hoxie later shared her excitement on social media, thanking her colleagues for the surprise. She had announced her engagement to Adkins on Facebook the previous year.
