Deshaun Watson Ticketed for Speeding; Bodycam Footage Released

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was ticketed for speeding on August 26 after being stopped by the Ohio State Highway Patrol for allegedly traveling 86 mph in a 60 mph zone. Newly released bodycam footage from the traffic stop shows a brief and professional interaction between Watson and the trooper.

The footage shows the trooper informing Watson of his speed and asking him to move his vehicle further from traffic. Watson provided his license, registration, and insurance. The trooper stated he would issue a citation for the speed and, after reviewing Watson's documents, handed him a speeding ticket before advising him to drive safely.

Watson pleaded not guilty to the citation in Cleveland Municipal Court on September 9. A subsequent court date is scheduled for September 23.

Watson, a three-time Pro Bowler, started in the Browns' season opener against the Jaguars on September 13, a game that resulted in a 34-10 loss. Despite the performance, he is expected to remain the starting quarterback for the Browns' upcoming road game against the Buccaneers.
