A derelict property, infamously dubbed the 'scariest house on Rightmove,' has sold at auction for £200,000, nearly three times its initial guide price of £75,000. The three-bedroom detached station house in Bleasby, Nottingham, which dates back to the 1840s, was sold on Monday.

The listing described the property as a "rare opportunity to acquire a substantial detached residence occupying an exceptionally large plot" with "enormous potential for renovation." However, unusual photographs revealed an unsettling atmosphere within the home. Images showed a creepy doll in a room with nicotine-stained walls, pink striped wallpaper peeling in the second bedroom, and a vintage metal pram left behind. Other rooms featured shadowed corners, mold, boarded-up windows, and a bathroom with grout visible inside the tiles and a bath covered in dark marks.

Despite its dilapidated state, the property is situated in a desirable area. The listing suggested that with extensive renovation, the house could be worth approximately £600,000. Area manager Jonathan Way for Auction House Notts & Derby told the BBC that the house had been broken into multiple times due to being empty for an extended period, explaining the boarded-up windows.

Way described his visit as "unsettling," noting the lack of natural light downstairs and the need to use phone lights to navigate. He commented that the doll and pram upstairs were "a little bit creepy."

Social media users reacted to the property, with some describing it as "something straight out of a horror movie" and "absolutely disastrous." Others noted its potential for renovation, with comments like "This is actually in a very desirable area so if u can get it for the guide unreal value." One user suggested it was "a fixer upper but I'd have fun and make it mint."

The listing highlighted the property's location adjacent to Bleasby railway station and its large plot with extensive gardens. It comprises two reception rooms, a kitchen, a ground floor bathroom, and three first-floor bedrooms, with potential for reconfiguration and extension, subject to necessary consents.
