Former NFL quarterback Derek Carr recently lauded Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts for a gesture of kindness during a game at Dodger Stadium. The interaction occurred shortly after Carr's announcement that he would be joining the UCLA football team as a volunteer special advisor.

Carr, a four-time Pro Bowler who played 11 seasons in the NFL, shared the story on social media following the Dodgers' game against the Kansas City Royals on Monday. He recounted how Roberts invited him, his wife Heather, and their five children into his office to cool off from the heat during batting practice. Carr described Roberts as a "genuinely kind person" in his post.

The social media post, which highlighted Carr's positive experience, has garnered significant attention, surpassing 440,000 views within approximately 16 hours.

Carr's new role at UCLA will involve assisting the offensive staff with game-planning strategy and working with the team's quarterbacks. The Bruins' starting quarterback is expected to be Nico Iamaleava, who recorded 1,928 passing yards and 13 touchdowns last season. Carr is undertaking this role on a volunteer basis, having earned over $205 million during his NFL career with the Raiders and the New Orleans Saints.
