The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently posted a video on its X account, formerly Twitter, featuring a hype montage of former Philadelphia Eagles player Brian Dawkins set to music by the band Korn. The post, which coincided with reports of a large migrant caravan approaching the U.S. southern border, stated: "Our time has come." This content has elicited strong reactions from several commentators on the political left.

Critics, including those from The Athletic's sports department and social media personalities, have expressed disapproval of the DHS's use of the video. The Athletic reporter Devon Henderson reportedly noted that major sports leagues typically require express written consent for the use of their footage. Another commentator, Harry Sisson, called for the Philadelphia Eagles to condemn the video, stating the DHS was "used to taking whatever they want."

D.L. Hughley's Facebook account also posted a message criticizing the video, with a similar sentiment about the agency "taking whatever they want." On the social media platform Bluesky, some users urged Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, described as a "long-time registered Democrat," to speak out against the DHS's post. In response to the criticism, Fox News contributor Craig Carton, host of "The Craig Carton Show," defended the DHS's use of Dawkins in the video, suggesting that the Pro Football Hall of Famer would be an ideal figure to protect the U.S. border. The commentary emerged as the DHS prepared for a surge of migrants at the border.
