A dental nurse has been banned from driving after she pulled into traffic without stopping and collided with a couple on a motorbike, causing serious injuries. Horrifying dashcam footage captured the moment Halle Bae Osborne-Holland, 22, turned her Mercedes into a major road in Swanley, Kent, instead of waiting for a clear entrance at the junction.

The collision, which occurred in August of the previous year, sent Christopher Collins, 22, and Rebecca Good, 21, flying from their motorbike, scattering debris across the road. Ms. Good, a student, was trapped under the vehicle until bystanders lifted it off her. She was airlifted to a London hospital, where she was treated for a fractured thigh bone and had to defer her university studies for a year.

Mr. Collins was taken to the same hospital and suffered a significant hematoma, a collection of blood under the skin, in one of his legs. This injury resulted in him being unable to work for an extended period and required three surgeries to drain the pooled blood. According to KentOnline, Mr. Collins stated in a victim impact statement that he had to take a month off work, experiences sleepless nights, and has lost the confidence he gained over five years of riding motorcycles. He reported no longer owning a bike and feeling like a "prisoner in my own home."

Victoria Aked, the prosecutor, informed Medway Magistrates' Court that Osborne-Holland "didn't take a second to stop when she left the forecourt... She didn't think of anyone; they could be dead today."

Osborne-Holland pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving. In addition to the one-year driving ban, she received a 12-month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay a £114 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
