Dennis Quaid has listed his Los Angeles mansion in the Brentwood neighborhood for $5.2 million, signaling his departure from Southern California. The sale of the 4,115-square-foot home, which Quaid purchased in 2017 for $3.9 million, comes as the actor joins a growing number of celebrities who have left Hollywood.

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom residence is situated on a 0.6-acre lot and features an open-floor design, abundant natural light, a remodeled kitchen, a family room, and an outdoor area with a pool, grilling station, and terraced gardens. The master bedroom includes a fireplace, a private terrace, and an adjoining office with a kitchenette.

Quaid, 72, expressed frustration with the management of Los Angeles, particularly following wildfires that prompted him to evacuate his home in early 2025. "It used to be such a great town and the '90s was nice. And then it's been kind of going downhill, and I feel like people pay these taxes for no services is what it gets down to," Quaid told Fox News Digital. He noted that fires "expose all those things that go on that should be taken care of," leading to public anger and a sense of resignation.

Quaid and his wife, Laura Savoie, moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2020 but maintained their Los Angeles property until now. The actor has been a vocal critic of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, supporting recall efforts and endorsing challenger Spencer Pratt. The Palisades fire in January 2025, which resulted in fatalities and significant property damage, further fueled Quaid's dissatisfaction.

Quaid's decision reflects a broader trend of celebrities relocating from Los Angeles due to concerns over homelessness, taxes, crime, and the overall cost of living. Comedian Nikki Glaser returned to her hometown of St. Louis in 2022. Joe Rogan moved to Austin, Texas, in 2020, citing overcrowding in Los Angeles. Mark Wahlberg relocated his family to Nevada in 2022, seeking an income-tax-free environment and greater opportunities. Hilary Swank moved her family to Colorado during the pandemic, listing her Pacific Palisades home in 2021. Josh Brolin also left Los Angeles in 2020, purchasing a home in Atlanta, Georgia.
