Denise Van Outen Enjoys Portuguese Holiday

Denise Van Outen has shared images of herself enjoying a holiday in Portugal, wearing a Burberry swimsuit. The 52-year-old television personality posted the photos to Instagram on Wednesday.

In the images, Van Outen is seen on a beach, wearing sunglasses and accessorizing with a gold necklace and stacked bracelets. The photos come after Van Outen discussed reclaiming her sense of freedom as her daughter, Betsy, now 16, becomes more independent. Betsy is Van Outen's daughter with her ex-husband, Lee Mead.

Van Outen, who welcomed Betsy in 2010, told the Daily Mail that her focus for many years has been on raising her daughter. She described the period of raising Betsy as "really challenging at times" and a "constant worry." Now that Betsy is 16, Van Outen feels she can "relax a little bit" and has experienced a "second wind."

She recalled times when Betsy was younger, around four years old, and would cry when Van Outen left for work. Despite her mother helping to care for Betsy, Van Outen would still feel guilty about work trips. "Whereas now she's 16, she's happy to see the back of me," Van Outen said of her daughter. "She's like, 'come on, off you go.'"

Earlier this year, Van Outen was also photographed on Mersea Island beach in Essex, wearing a white bikini. She had captioned that post, "Took myself off to the beach today to clean my beach hut."
