Ex-Olympian Denise Lewis, 53, has shared insights into her diet and exercise routines, dispelling the notion that she adheres to restrictive eating habits. Lewis, who has been open about creating personal content for social media, aims to show the less-seen aspects of her life, including her recipes, workouts, and family activities.
Lewis clarified her approach to nutrition, stating, "People think I live on salads. Well, I don't, but this is what I would eat in a day as a 53-year-old." She begins her day with matcha tea made with almond milk, followed by oats with nutmeg, grapes, and banana, or scrambled eggs with mushrooms for a protein boost. She also incorporates a plant-based chocolate and peanut protein shake, noting her goal is maintenance rather than bulking.
Her supplement regimen includes liquid iron for fatigue, vitamin D, selenium, B complex, and collagen for skin health. For lunch, Lewis typically opts for a salad with store-bought quiche or flan. Dinners often feature grilled salmon with ready-to-eat lentils or rice.
Lewis also presented a 10-minute workout routine, suitable for home or travel, which includes exercises like press-ups and planks to maintain strength. These details are part of her "no filter" series launched on Instagram.
The series comes after Lewis's split from her husband of 17 years, Steve Finan O'Connor, a decision they mutually agreed upon two years prior to its public announcement. Lewis has spoken about entering a "second act" of her life, feeling more energized and confident. She recently participated in her first lingerie shoot, describing it as a statement on confidence being independent of age and a source of empowerment.
