Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) co-chair Gustavo Gordillo indicated on Thursday that many members of the organization would be "thrilled" if Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., were to run for president in 2028. Gordillo made these remarks during an appearance on MS NOW.
The comments suggest a potential alignment between the prominent socialist organization and the progressive congresswoman, who has become a significant figure in Democratic politics since her election in 2018. Ocasio-Cortez has not yet publicly stated any intentions regarding a presidential campaign in 2028.
