Democratic Candidate Chris Gallant Faces Scrutiny Over Past BDSM Photography
New York congressional hopeful Chris Gallant is under fire from Republican opponents for past BDSM-themed modeling photos that have resurfaced.
Chris Gallant, the Democratic candidate for New York's first congressional district on Long Island, is facing criticism from Republican opponents over past BDSM-themed photography that has recently come to light. The images, which show Gallant in various fetish scenarios including a cage, have become a focal point for his political rivals.
Gallant, a veteran who served in the New York National Guard after joining at age 17, flew Black Hawk helicopters in the Middle East and led missions to protect the President. He has stated that he is not ashamed of his past and will not be silenced.
"I'm proud of who I am. I won't be shamed into silence – and I won't allow my private life to be distorted and weaponized against me," Gallant said in a statement.
The controversy comes as Gallant seeks to represent New York's first congressional district, a seat previously won by Republican Nick LaLota, described as a Trump loyalist, by a 10-point margin in 2024.
