JoAnna Mendoza, a Marine Corps veteran and Democratic candidate for Arizona's 6th Congressional District, is facing scrutiny over accounts her campaign's Instagram followed, which included those of OnlyFans models and individuals identifying as witches. The content of these accounts reportedly featured sexually explicit material and instructions on witchcraft.
Mendoza is challenging incumbent Republican Juan Ciscomani in a race that Cook Political Report rates as a toss-up, a designation given to 18 races considered key to determining control of the House of Representatives in 2026.
Following inquiries from The New York Post, the campaign Instagram account reportedly unfollowed some of the accounts in question. The Mendoza campaign did not respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
Among the followed accounts was one belonging to a transgender socialist activist who posted images in BDSM gear. The campaign account also reportedly followed at least two OnlyFans users, as well as accounts offering guidance on witchcraft practices such as "Eden Energy Medicine" and "Crystal Spirit Readings."
Mendoza has previously drawn attention during her campaign for past statements advocating for the decriminalization of sex work, which she stated would benefit marginalized communities, particularly transgender women of color, due to perceived pervasive discrimination in the formal employment sector. This stance was made when she was running for state office in 2020.
