Delonte West Marries Girlfriend Amidst Boxing Comeback

Former NBA player Delonte West has married his longtime girlfriend, Melissa Anaya. West shared the news on his social media accounts, captioning an image with "The comeback story continues."

This marks West's third marriage. He divorced his first wife in 2010 and his second in 2020. His announcement comes shortly before he is set to compete in a boxing match against Michael Beasley.

West's boxing career is part of his collaboration with Michael Beasley under Adin Ross's Brand Risk Promotions. Additional fights are scheduled for Friday, including a bout between Deshae Frost and YK Osiris.

Drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2004, West played for the Cavaliers before officially stepping away from professional basketball in 2012. His career was impacted by legal issues, including an arrest for firearm possession in 2009. In recent years, West has faced public struggles with homelessness, mental health, and substance abuse, and was previously arrested on assault and robbery charges.

West's marriage announcement gained attention after he addressed long-standing rumors about a relationship with Gloria James, mother of his former Cleveland teammate LeBron James, at a recent pre-fight media event. When asked about the rumors, West responded coyly, "A gentleman never tells." He has also recently spoken positively about the James family, stating that they continue to check in on him and his family.
