A delivery driver's attempt to deliver a Subway order ended in a scramble over a fence as he was confronted by two small dogs. The incident occurred on September 5 in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

Video footage captured the driver ringing the doorbell with the food in hand. Upon the appearance of the dogs, he dropped the order and fled into a neighbor's property, where he climbed onto a trash bin to evade the animals. He then balanced with one foot on the bin and the other on a fence until the dogs' owner appeared.

Lydia Starkey, 27, who was at the property, stated she was unaware her brother had ordered a delivery. She explained that when she opened the gate, one of the dogs ran out, and she called for help. However, her mother was occupied feeding a newborn, her partner was showering, and her brother could not hear the commotion. Ms. Starkey observed the driver subsequently moving to a neighbor's front garden and climbing on bins to escape the dogs.

After ensuring the driver was unharmed, Ms. Starkey and her family found the situation humorous. She commented that such incidents can happen when dogs get out. A video of the encounter has garnered over 860,000 views online.

Online reactions to the video included jokes about the driver throwing the food and observations that some individuals have a genuine fear of dogs regardless of size. Others noted that delivery drivers are aware of potential risks, including encountering dogs, as part of their job.
