Deion Sanders Dismisses Leaked Playbook Impact on Colorado's Loss

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has dismissed the notion that a leaked playbook contributed to his team's 29-7 loss to Texas Tech on October 3. Sanders addressed the situation on Tuesday, following a bye week for the team.

"I've seen that, heard of that on the pro level as well as the collegiate level," Sanders said. "That happens sometimes."

The playbook was reportedly discovered by Texas Tech fans at a Colorado team hotel and subsequently shared online. It allegedly contained Colorado's opening offensive plays.

Sanders indicated that the incident did not impact the game's result. "I think we scored on that first drive, so I guess it didn’t work," he stated.

He further suggested that such leaks might be deliberate misinformation tactics by opposing teams. "As the opposing coach, if somebody called us and said, ‘Hey, Utah left the play script of the first 20 plays, I wouldn’t believe that. Like, ain’t no way,'" Sanders explained. "And then, you gotta match it up, and then they score on the first drive? Don’t make sense to me."

Sanders also indicated that he does not intend to investigate the leak further. "Why would we? It’s over. Game’s over," he said. "We probably know a lot more than you think we do. But a whole playbook? Come on, man."

The loss to Texas Tech marked Colorado's third consecutive defeat. The Buffaloes currently hold an overall record of 2-3 and are seeking their first victory in the Big 12 this season. Their next game is against an undefeated Utah team, currently ranked No. 11 in the country.
