Deion Sanders Dismisses Colorado Playbook Leak as 'Mistake'

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has addressed the alleged leak of his team's offensive play script, which was reportedly found by Texas Tech fans at a hotel bar prior to their game. Sanders characterized the incident as a simple mistake that did not impact the game's outcome.

Speaking publicly about the situation for the first time, Sanders deflected questions about a potential investigation. "It happens sometimes," Sanders said when asked if a staff member had left the script. "I've seen and heard that on the pro level, as well as the collegiate level. But, I think we scored on the first drive, so I guess it didn’t work."

Reports indicated that Texas Tech fans staying at the same hotel as the Colorado Buffaloes in Broomfield, Colorado, discovered what appeared to be a script of offensive plays at the hotel bar. This information subsequently circulated on social media.

When pressed on whether he was concerned about the security lapse, Sanders responded, "Mistake, what am I going to do about it? It's over." He also questioned the reliability of such information, suggesting that as a coach, he would be skeptical if provided with an opponent's plays.

"When you get something like that, do you really trust it as a coach? So was that a dummy script or was that real? Like, that's what your thinking as a coach. If somebody called us and said Utah left the first twenty plays of their script, I wouldn’t believe that," Sanders stated.

The alleged playbook leak is the latest in a series of notable events surrounding the Colorado Buffaloes football program under Sanders' tenure. While Sanders indicated he was not losing sleep over the incident, the situation adds another layer to the ongoing narrative of his time coaching the Buffaloes.
