Debbie McGee, 67, has unveiled the results of a non-surgical facelift, reporting that the treatment has significantly improved her skin's appearance and boosted her confidence. The television personality shared that she no longer feels the need to wear makeup daily, a change she attributes to a series of NeoGen nitrogen plasma treatments.
McGee, who was previously married to magician Paul Daniels, had been hesitant about cosmetic procedures, including injectables like Botox and fillers, due to concerns about toxins. However, inspired by friends Christine Hamilton and Shirley Ballas who had undergone similar treatments, she decided to try the NeoGen procedure at the Aspire Clinic in Reading. The treatment, administered over the past year by aesthetic practitioner Jenny O'Neill, aims to rejuvenate the skin by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.
Initially, McGee's primary motivation was to address prominent age spots and numerous small freckles on her face, which she had previously concealed with makeup. "I had a great big brown age spot. It wasn't a mole. It was two, but they kind of covered this area of my cheek," McGee stated. She also noted that she was a sun worshipper in her youth, contributing to her freckled complexion. After the treatments, she observed that not only the age spots but also the freckles had diminished, leading to clearer skin.
Beyond addressing specific blemishes, McGee reported unexpected improvements in her overall skin quality and texture. "The way it promotes your own collagen is incredible, and you keep seeing it working," she said. She described NeoGen as a treatment that affects the skin's architecture, leading to ongoing improvements in tone, texture, and firmness. McGee stated that the results have continued to develop over the weeks following the treatment, which she found remarkable. She expressed that her skin is now smoother and that she believes it looks better than it did in her 40s.
McGee also noted improvements in areas she did not anticipate, such as wrinkles on her upper lip and slight sagging along her jawline. She had been concerned about potential "dolphin lips" from fillers but found that NeoGen reduced the visibility of these lip lines. She also observed a subtle tightening effect around her jaw.
The series of six NeoGen treatments cost a total of £4,500, with individual sessions priced at approximately £750. McGee views this as a worthwhile investment, considering the savings from not purchasing foundation and other skincare products. She contrasted the cost with the ongoing expense of high-end moisturizers.
Regarding the treatment experience, McGee described it as "a little bit uncomfortable" but manageable, especially with the option of topical numbing cream. She emphasized that the natural-looking results were crucial to her decision to undergo the procedure, as she did not want others to suspect she had cosmetic work done. Instead, she has received compliments on her appearance without specific questions about procedures.
Debbie McGee is celebrating her 50th year in show business and her autobiography, 'A Magical Life,' is set to be released in October.
