Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday, Clocks to Fall Back One Hour

Daylight Saving Time concludes on Sunday, November 1, when clocks will be set back one hour from 2 a.m. to 1 a.m. This marks the return to standard time, resulting in earlier sunsets and brighter mornings as the days grow shorter with the approach of winter.

Most modern electronic devices, including smartphones and computers connected to the internet, will automatically adjust. However, traditional analog clocks, watches, and non-connected digital devices will require manual adjustment. The shift means many individuals will be heading home from work or school in darkness.

Daylight Saving Time is observed annually from the second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November in most U.S. states, with exceptions for Hawaii and most of Arizona.

Earlier this year, the House of Representatives passed the Sunshine Protection Act, a bill that would make Daylight Saving Time permanent throughout the year. The legislation has since been sent to the Senate for consideration. If the bill does not pass before the upcoming time change, the seasonal adjustment will proceed as usual.

Following the end of Daylight Saving Time on November 1, the clocks are scheduled to "spring forward" one hour on March 14, 2027, resuming Daylight Saving Time.
