Davina McCall Becomes Emotional Thanking Caprice for Life-Saving Medical Advice

TV presenter Davina McCall became visibly emotional at a charity event on Wednesday night as she thanked model Caprice for what she described as saving her life. McCall, 58, expressed her deep gratitude to Caprice, 54, for her crucial advice following McCall's own diagnosis with a benign brain tumor.

McCall underwent surgery in November 2024 after a routine health check-up revealed a rare colloid cyst. The presenter recalled that when she received her diagnosis, Caprice was the first person she contacted. Caprice, who herself had a non-cancerous meningioma tumor successfully treated in 2017, immediately recommended a specific neurosurgeon.

"I told her what the brain surgeon had said to me and she said 'No, no, no, no, you've got to speak to this guy Kevin O'Neill, he's the best guy,' and you don't argue with Caprice," McCall recounted at the Davina McCall x Rachel Jackson Choose Love launch party. She humorously added that Caprice insisted, "NO, YOU ARE CALLING KEVIN." McCall stated that she saw the recommended surgeon the following morning.

McCall shared that the neurosurgeon, Kevin O'Neill, had recently spoken at a college of brain surgeons about patient experiences, and that she had mentioned Caprice's pivotal role. "I feel like you saved my life," McCall told Caprice, publicly acknowledging her influence. "It's so... and to be able to publicly big you up for doing that for me. You're a fing boss bh. I am so grateful to you."

The event also marked McCall's partnership with jewelry designer Rachel Jackson on a limited-edition collection, with all proceeds benefiting the humanitarian aid organization Choose Love. McCall described the collaboration as personal, stating that the designs represent connection and moments that bring people together.

This marks a period of significant health challenges for McCall, who also revealed in October 2025 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, shortly after receiving a clear mammogram. She underwent a lumpectomy and announced in April 2026 that she had been given the all-clear for breast cancer, which came nearly two years after her brain tumor diagnosis. Her husband, Michael Douglas, was also in attendance at the event.
