David Pollack's Wife's Cancer Battle Takes Unexpected Turn

Former Georgia football player and ESPN analyst David Pollack shared an encouraging update regarding his wife Lindsey's battle with brain cancer. According to a post on X (formerly Twitter), recent biopsy results have shown no signs of a tumor, a development that has surprised her medical team.

Lindsey underwent a six-hour craniotomy in March 2025 for stage 2 glioma. More recently, she had a brain biopsy on September 23 at Duke University after doctors observed concerning findings on her June and September scans. The medical team had suspected a regrowth of tumor cells and proceeded with the biopsy to test the tissue, uncertain if it was a recurrence of the same glioma or something new.

Pollack recounted a conversation with Lindsey's oncologist on Friday, who called him during a high school football game. The doctor described the results as "stunning," stating there was "no tumor" and that they did "not completely understand" the findings. He offered to explain the situation further.

Pollack attributed the unexpected outcome to divine intervention and prayer. "He doesn’t understand, but we do… GOD and PRAYER!!!! Thank you for faithfully praying! WHAT A GOD!!" Pollack wrote.

Lindsey Pollack shared her perspective on Instagram, expressing her fear of undergoing another craniotomy. She had prayed for the tumor to be gone before the biopsy. While the tumor was not absent at the time of the scan prior to the biopsy, she described the outcome as a "miracle."

"Nothing there to biopsy," she wrote, explaining that the tumor doctors had expected to biopsy was simply not present. She noted that her doctors had repeatedly sent the samples back for retesting due to the unusual nature of the findings and their lack of explanation.

Lindsey expressed gratitude for the public prayers that followed David's decision to share her surgery details in March. David Pollack, a former standout defensive lineman for the Georgia Bulldogs, was a first-round NFL draft pick in 2005. His professional football career was cut short by a career-ending neck injury in his second season. After a career at ESPN, including his role on "College GameDay," Pollack launched his podcast "See Ball Get Ball" in 2024. In 2016, the Pollacks established The Pollack Family Foundation, which focuses on faith, family, and community.
