David Krumholtz Explains Absence from '10 Things I Hate About You' Reunion on DWTS

David Krumholtz revealed on Instagram that he was unable to attend the "10 Things I Hate About You" cast reunion on "Dancing With the Stars" due to a prior filming commitment. His co-star Julia Stiles had invited the cast to join her for a tribute to their late co-star Heath Ledger during the show's "Dedication Night."

"I could not be in LA for ‘Dancing With the Stars’ last night," Krumholtz stated in a video. "I would have loved loved loved to have been there." He expressed pride in Stiles' tribute, describing it as "amazing and stunning."

The actor explained that he was in upstate New York shooting a movie at the time. He added that he thought the rest of the cast, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Larisa Oleynik, Gabrielle Union, Andrew Keegan, and Susan May Pratt, looked "amazing" and "so young still."

Stiles performed a contemporary dance to Frankie Valli's "Can’t Take My Eyes Off You," a song Ledger's character sang to Stiles' character in the 1999 film. "I learned a lot from Heath. He was so authentic," Stiles shared in a pre-recorded video before the performance. "I have so many great memories, but I’m also sad because I really wish that I could pick up the phone and be like, ‘Hey, dude. People really care about that movie. We did something special.'"

Ledger died in 2008 at the age of 28 from an accidental overdose. He was posthumously nominated for an Academy Award for his role as the Joker in "The Dark Knight," which he had recently completed filming. He was also working on "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" at the time of his death. Ledger was the father of one daughter, Matilda Rose, with actress Michelle Williams.
