David Cameron Celebrates 60th Birthday with Coastal Revelries
The former Prime Minister marked his milestone birthday with a weekend of festivities at his Cornwall holiday home, including a bracing cold plunge.
David Cameron ushered in his 60th birthday with a weekend of celebrations at his £2 million holiday home in Cornwall. The festivities kicked off Friday night with a dinner for friends, followed by a morning cold plunge in the sea on Saturday.
Despite strong winds and cool 13C (55F) weather, Cameron, wearing striped shorts, ventured into the waves for several minutes alongside five friends. The group then walked along the beach before returning to his property, where more than 100 guests were expected over the three-day event.

Preparations for the weekend included the erection of large marquees in the garden, adorned with white pennants and bunting, and illuminated by festoon lighting. Food and drink trucks were also present at the property.

Cameron was also seen greeting guests at the nearby St Moritz Hotel, a spa where some attendees were staying. The celebrations are a marked contrast to his 50th birthday in 2016, which was overshadowed by the UK's vote to leave the European Union, forcing his resignation as Prime Minister.

Tonight's main event is a grand dinner catered by Michelin-starred chef Paul Ainsworth. A Sunday morning 'surf-off' is also planned for guests. Among the expected attendees are celebrities such as Gordon Ramsay, Jeremy Clarkson, and Helena Bonham Carter.

Cameron's Cornish property, purchased in 2017, has been remodeled to enhance its hosting capabilities. It features a snooker room, a luxury hot tub, and a shepherd's hut, reportedly similar to one he previously used in his Cotswolds garden for writing memoirs. Locals have observed Cameron and his wife, Samantha, maintaining a low profile when visiting the area, often seen bodyboarding.

Since leaving office, Cameron has taken on roles as a strategic adviser for law firm DLA Piper, US firm Scale AI, and private equity firm Finback Investment Partners. He sits in the House of Lords as Lord Cameron of Chipping Norton. He is married to Samantha, and they have three grown children. Their fourth child, Ivan, died in 2009.
