Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has indicated he would readily hire former NFL insider Dianna Russini for his media company, should she wish to join. Portnoy expressed this sentiment in a recent interview with Us Weekly while promoting his memoir, "Cancel Me If You Can."
Russini resigned from The Athletic in April following the publication of compromising photos by Page Six. The images depicted her with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel at an Arizona resort, prompting denials of impropriety from both individuals. Vrabel and Russini are each married with children. Page Six subsequently released earlier photos showing the two appearing to kiss in a New York City bar. The Athletic initiated an internal investigation into Russini's conduct amidst the controversy.
Portnoy commented on the situation, stating that an affair is not a "capital offense" and should not end someone's professional career. He argued that barring individuals involved in affairs from future employment would significantly reduce the workforce.
Russini has recently faced renewed scrutiny after The Center Square reported she may have embellished a story about using a FaceTime call with an NFL coach to avoid a traffic ticket. This account was resurfaced in a New York Times feature detailing the controversy surrounding Russini.
