Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum Present United Front at VMAs Amidst Past Marital Strife
The couple appeared together at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, two years after a public confession of infidelity by the Foo Fighters frontman.
Dave Grohl and his wife Jordyn Blum appeared together on the red carpet at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, presenting a united front approximately two years after Grohl publicly disclosed he had fathered a child outside of his marriage.
Grohl, 57, and Blum, 50, who married in 2003, have three daughters: Violet, 20, Harper, 17, and Ophelia, 12. The controversy erupted in September 2024 when Grohl confessed to fathering another daughter outside of his marriage. The child's mother was later identified as Jennifer Young, a rock fan from Florida now based in Los Angeles.
By September 2025, sources indicated that Blum had forgiven Grohl, and the couple were reportedly happy. On Sunday, they projected an image of marital harmony at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, with Blum seen wearing Grohl's ring.
Grohl was at the event to accept the Video Vanguard Award on behalf of Nirvana, the band that launched his career in the 1990s. He reunited on the red carpet with fellow surviving Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.
While Grohl confirmed the child is a girl, he has not publicly revealed her name. Young, however, stated the baby was born on August 1, 2024, and cited concerns about angry fans as a reason for protecting her daughter's identity. Young is known as a co-creator of the comic book series 'Cannibal.'
Sources close to the couple previously indicated that neither Grohl nor Blum wanted a divorce, viewing themselves as good parents and finding the idea of splitting their family too difficult. The news of the additional child reportedly left Blum distraught, and the betrayal was described as painful for both.
Grohl expressed remorse and sought forgiveness, while friends of Blum reportedly encouraged her to persevere. In the period following the revelation, sources suggested Blum was aware of the situation for some time before it became public.
An insider also reported that Blum was in a state of confusion regarding the future of their relationship, fluctuating between considering divorce and wanting to preserve the marriage. By November 2024, Grohl had reportedly stopped working with a divorce attorney and was focused on reconciliation. In March 2025, the couple were said to be attending counseling, with Grohl actively attempting to regain Blum's trust.
