Dave & Buster's is marking the nation's 250th birthday with a festive culinary centerpiece: a limited-time Pretzel Dog Tower. The entertainment chain's Times Square location in New York City is serving the shareable dish as part of its Fourth of July celebrations.
This unique offering puts an "over-the-top spin" on the classic hot dog, a food strongly associated with American Independence Day celebrations. The Pretzel Dog Tower is designed as a "fun, shareable menu item" intended to bring people together, according to Steve Friedl, general manager of the Times Square venue.
"The Fourth of July is really just about bringing people together," Friedl told Fox News Digital. "We wanted to create a fun, shareable menu item that just kind of reflects that spirit. I mean, the hot dog is one of America's most iconic holiday traditions, so we put together a bigger, bolder spin on the classic."
Americans consume an estimated 150 million hot dogs on July 4 alone, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council. The Dave & Buster's promotion aims to capture the celebratory spirit of this tradition.
Friedl noted that the tower has generated significant interest from guests, with many expressing curiosity about the towering creation. One guest described the item as "amazing."
In addition to the Pretzel Dog Tower, the Times Square location is hosting an all-day event. This includes unlimited gameplay, a live DJ, an all-American barbecue buffet, and a hot dog-eating contest. This comprehensive lineup is intended to create an energetic and exciting experience for both guests and staff.
National Retail Federation projections suggest that holiday weekend spending on food and cookouts is expected to exceed $9 billion nationwide. Dave & Buster's is aiming to meet this demand by offering value-focused activities and dining options for families celebrating the holiday outside the home.
