Daughter Orphaned After Father's Fatal Encounter in Las Vegas
A Utah man died of an overdose after taking a fentanyl-laced pill from a prostitute just months after his wife's death, leaving their daughter an orphan.
Seneca Higley, 46, of Utah, died in his Las Vegas hotel room at Caesars Palace in January 2024, leaving his daughter, Indica Higley, without either parent. His death followed the October 2023 passing of his wife, Gretchen Bloemen.
Higley had spoken of the challenges of dating in his 40s after Bloemen's death and caring for Indica. Just months after his wife's passing, Higley died from an overdose after consuming a pill given to him by a prostitute in his hotel room. Investigations revealed the pill was laced with fentanyl.
Heidi Warner, 25, of Las Vegas, was sentenced to up to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter. She admitted to providing Higley with the fentanyl-laced Percocet that led to his death.
Indica Higley now faces a future without either parent, a stark consequence of the tragic events that unfolded in the months following her mother's death and culminating in her father's overdose.
