Dashcam Video Captures Horrific San Jose Highway Plane Crash
A small plane struck a light pole and crashed on a highway, injuring three.
Dashcam footage captured the moment a small plane carrying two adults and a child crashed onto a San Jose highway last Saturday. The aircraft was flying at a dangerously low altitude when it struck a street light pole before slamming nose-first onto the asphalt.
The video, recorded by a car at a traffic signal, shows the plane descending steeply over Capitol Expressway before colliding with the pole. The impact fractured the plane's wing structure, causing it to lose control.
Following the collision with the pole, the plane pitched forward and crashed. Images from the scene show the aircraft's nose severely damaged against the roadway.
The San Jose Fire Department transported the three occupants to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a precaution. No vehicles were involved in the incident, and authorities reported a minor fuel spill that was contained.
This crash follows another aviation incident in San Jose the previous Friday, when a plane crash-landed at Reid Hillview Airport due to faulty landing gear. The two individuals on board that aircraft were unharmed and exited the plane without assistance, and no fuel spill occurred.
