Darline Graham has announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination in the South Carolina Senate special election, aiming to permanently fill the seat vacated by her late brother, Sen. Lindsey Graham. Her decision to enter the race comes after significant encouragement from President Donald Trump.

Graham, who was initially appointed to serve as an interim senator to complete her brother's term, confirmed her intention to run in a television interview. "I'm in," she stated, acknowledging the "tremendous amount of pressure" associated with the decision.

Her entry into the race is expected to alter the dynamics of the special election, with the filing period for candidates set to open soon. Several other Republicans have already indicated their intentions to compete for the nomination, including Representatives Ralph Norman and Russell Fry, along with businessman Mark Lynch. Representative Nancy Mace has also strongly suggested she will join the field.
