Darline Graham, the sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, sat down with Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity for her first interview since being sworn in as South Carolina's interim U.S. senator. The interview aired Monday night on 'Hannity.'
Graham, who was appointed to fill the remainder of her brother's term by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, reflected on her brother's legacy and her decision to continue his public service. She discussed shared family values and how she plans to represent the people of South Carolina.
Lindsey Graham died on July 11 in Washington, D.C., at the age of 71. Preliminary findings from the District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner indicated the cause of death was an aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, though official confirmation was pending further testing.
Darline Graham's appointment makes her the first woman to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate. President Donald Trump had recommended her for the position, and Senator Tim Scott, R-S.C., also met with her prior to her swearing-in ceremony in Columbia, South Carolina. Governor McMaster stated, "Lindsey took care of his little sister in years long departed. It's my honor to ask his little sister, Darline Graham, to finish his work for him now."
