Apple TV+’s science fiction series ‘Dark Matter’ is set to release its second season on Friday, August 28. The new season will feature 10 episodes, with new installments dropping weekly on Fridays, concluding on October 30. However, Apple TV+ typically makes new episodes available for streaming at 9:00 p.m. ET the night before the official premiere date.
Based on Blake Crouch’s novel, the first season concluded with Jason Dessen, his wife Daniela, and their son Charlie entering the Box in pursuit of a new beginning, while Amanda and Ryan encountered each other in a futuristic Chicago. Season 2 picks up with the Dessens attempting to establish a peaceful life, which is soon disrupted, forcing them to flee again. The synopsis indicates that Jason’s focus on the Box intensifies, while Daniela’s anxiety grows, potentially destabilizing their newly found stability. Simultaneously, Amanda and Ryan collaborate in an effort to return home, and Blair remains determined to thwart Leighton’s ambition of creating an ideal world.
Returning cast members will be joined by new additions, including Chris Diamantopoulos as Agent Mitchel MacNamara, who is investigating at least one version of Jason Dessen. The series can be streamed on Apple TV+, which offers a seven-day free trial and a monthly subscription plan for $12.99. Amazon Prime members can subscribe to Apple TV+ through Prime Video for $5.99 per month, with an option for a bundle that includes Apple TV+ and Peacock.
