Danny DeVito, 81, made a rare public appearance with his children, Jake and Lucy, at the premiere of the film "Drag" at the Sitges Film Festival. The actor utilized a walking stick while walking the red carpet.
DeVito shares Jake, 39, and Lucy, 43, with his estranged partner, actress Rhea Perlman. The couple also have a 41-year-old daughter named Grace.
For the event, DeVito wore a David Carey Route 66 shirt paired with beige trousers and Crocs. Lucy DeVito donned a black sheer blouse and a leather miniskirt, while Jake DeVito wore a black cardigan over a white shirt and black trousers.
Danny DeVito is a producer on the new movie "Drag," which stars Lizzy Caplan and John Stamos. The film is described as a thriller about two burglars who encounter disaster during a home heist when one sustains a back injury, leading to an increasingly chaotic escape. The movie is slated for release in 2027.
DeVito and Perlman were together for over 50 years and married in 1982. They announced their separation in October 2012 but reconciled in March 2013, only to separate permanently five years later. Despite their separation, they have remained close friends.
In May 2023, Perlman stated on Julia Louis-Dreyfus's podcast "Wiser Than Me" that she and DeVito are still legally married. She also shared that she had become a grandmother for the first time to a granddaughter named Sinclair Lucille DeVito. Perlman confirmed that the baby belongs to their daughter Grace and her husband, who chose to give their child the DeVito surname.
Perlman described the profound impact of becoming a grandmother, comparing the love to that she felt when her own children were born and marveling at the human capacity for creation.
