Dannielynn Birkhead, the daughter of the late model Anna Nicole Smith, celebrated her 20th birthday by showcasing a striking new aesthetic, leaning into a goth-inspired style. Her father, Larry Birkhead, shared photos on Instagram documenting her transformation.

In one of the images, Dannielynn sports a bright red, short hairstyle and an oversized black t-shirt from Hot Topic featuring the band Ghost. Another photo reveals her with platinum blonde hair, dressed in a black velvet off-the-shoulder dress, fishnet tights, black leg warmers, and large sunglasses. This ensemble was from Hot Topic's collaboration with the punk-inspired brand Social Collusion.

Birkhead also shared nostalgic throwback photos of Dannielynn as a child. He captioned the birthday post with, “Happy 20th Birthday Dannielynn! ❤️ Love, Dad ❤️.” The birthday wishes in the comments included a message from actress Selma Blair.

Earlier this year, Dannielynn had appeared at the Kentucky Derby with a shorter haircut that featured dip-dyed blond and black ends. Regarding her latest style, Larry Birkhead commented on Instagram that Dannielynn was embracing a "goth-roc" look with a dress from Punk Rave Clothing. He mentioned in an interview with People that his daughter was "coming into her own" and desired "something edgy and cool" for her hair. She collaborated with one of her late mother’s former hairstylists for the change.

Dannielynn herself remarked that her mother, Anna Nicole Smith, would likely approve of her new look. "She was cool, and I’m cool, so," Dannielynn stated, with her father adding, "She would love it."

Anna Nicole Smith passed away in February 2007 at the age of 39 from an accidental prescription drug overdose. In July, Larry Birkhead publicly opposed an upcoming film titled "Trust Me, I'm a Doctor," which focused on Smith's physician, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor. Birkhead expressed his objections to the use of Smith's life and the portrayal of individuals involved in her medical care in the film.
