Dan Orlovsky mourns sudden death of brother-in-law
The ESPN analyst shared the heartbreaking news on social media, detailing the impact on his sister and her three sons.
Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky announced the unexpected death of his brother-in-law, Federico, on October 15, 2026. Orlovsky shared the news on social media, describing the event as a "heartbreaking" and "unimaginable tragedy."
Federico is survived by Orlovsky's sister and their three sons: Brayden, 18; Cameron, 16; and Colton, 11. "There are no words to describe the heartbreak of losing a husband, a partner, and a father so suddenly," Orlovsky wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
A GoFundMe page has been established to support the family, aiming to provide immediate relief and assist with the boys' future expenses. The page states that Federico worked as a VP for the financial firm iCapital. As of the announcement, the fundraiser had garnered nearly 300 donations totaling over $41,000 toward its $75,000 goal.
"In the midst of trying to process this devastating loss, my sister is now facing the overwhelming reality of navigating life as a solo parent and a single-income household, all while helping her boys cope with the loss of their dad," Orlovsky explained. He added that any donation, no matter the amount, would help ease the financial burden and allow the family time to grieve and heal. He also encouraged those unable to donate to share the fundraiser and keep the family in their thoughts.
"Our family is heartbroken, but we are so grateful for the love and support surrounding them during this unimaginable time," Orlovsky concluded.
