Damar Hamlin Appears to Take Fan's Beer During Raiders Game Celebration

During the Las Vegas Raiders' 33-30 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Bills safety Damar Hamlin was captured on video interacting with fans near the endzone. As Hamlin and his teammates approached the stands, the safety took a beer from a fan, mimicked a toast, and appeared to pretend to drink it.

The fan whose beer was taken was heard cheering Hamlin on, shouting, "Hey, let’s go, Damar!" Hamlin then moved to another fan, appearing to attempt to take another beer.

This incident occurs nearly a month after several NFL players were fined for "beer chugging" celebrations. In September, San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, Colts guard Matt Goncalves, and Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson were penalized for similar actions. Juszczyk received the largest fine, $14,296, for his celebration, which the league deemed an "offensive demonstration" and "in poor taste." Juszczyk reportedly appealed the fine, stating he does not drink beer.

The game itself was a close contest. The Bills held a 33-23 lead late in the fourth quarter after a Tyler Bass field goal. However, the Raiders managed to cut the deficit to three points with a 44-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins to Tre Tucker. Las Vegas attempted an onside kick afterward, but the Bills recovered it and ran out the clock to secure the victory.

Hamlin recorded five tackles in the game, three of which were solo.
