Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Donates $1.5 Million to Trump and GOP Candidates

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has contributed $1.5 million to political campaigns, with $1 million directed to Donald Trump's MAGA Inc. and $500,000 allocated to local Texas races, according to Federal Election Commission records. The donations were first reported by Front Office Sports.

Among Jones's contributions is $250,000 to the Paxton Victory PAC, supporting Republican Ken Paxton's U.S. Senate campaign against Democrat James Talarico in Texas. Recent polling indicates a tight race, with one poll placing Talarico slightly ahead of Paxton.

Previously, Jones's son, Jerry Jones Jr., donated $50,000 to John Cornyn, the incumbent who lost to Paxton in the Republican primary.

NFL owners have collectively contributed over $18 million to the 2026 midterm elections, with the majority of funds supporting Republican candidates. The Denver Broncos' ownership group has been a leading contributor, with principal owner Rob Walton donating $8.96 million, largely to Americans for Prosperity, Inc., a group supporting Republican candidates. Broncos co-owner Greg Penner also contributed $349,000 to Great Opportunity PAC, which has shifted its focus to supporting Trump's outreach to Black and Hispanic voters.

However, some NFL owners have supported Democratic campaigns. Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank donated $315,000 to aid Democratic candidates, including $3,500 to the reelection campaign of New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. New Seattle Seahawks owner Vinod Khosla emerged as the top Democratic donor in the league, contributing $2.09 million, including a $2 million donation to the Democratic Senate arm.

Other significant Republican donors include Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam, who spent $2.06 million on various Republican candidates. Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft also made substantial six-figure donations to Republican-supporting groups in key Senate races. Kraft's donation went to the Great Lakes Conservative Fund, backing Republican Mike Rogers against Democrat Abdul El-Sayed. Despite their Republican affiliations, Ross and Kraft also directed funds to select Democrats, contributing to PACs tied to Senator Mark Warner and Representative Ritchie Torres, respectively.
