Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Win Uniform Dispute Against My Chemical Romance
The cheerleaders' owner filed for an injunction against the band for using similar uniforms in a concert performance.
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) have reached a resolution with the band My Chemical Romance (MCR) after legal action was taken over the use of allegedly similar uniforms. Pro Silver Star Ltd., the owner of the DCC, filed for a temporary restraining order and injunction against MCR, alleging the band's use of the uniforms degraded the DCC brand.
MCR had featured performers in blue and white uniforms, resembling those of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, during their theatrical concert "The Black Parade" at the Hollywood Bowl on October 21, 2026. According to the legal documents, these performers were armed with rifles and involved in a staged shootout, where they were depicted being shot and crawling off stage.
Pro Silver Star Ltd. claimed that the stunt misled concertgoers and social media users into believing the performers were actual Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The legal filing included comparisons of official DCC uniforms to those used in the performance, as well as social media screenshots showing fan confusion.
As a result of the legal action, My Chemical Romance has agreed to discontinue the use of the allegedly infringing costumes. MCR has additional performances scheduled at the Hollywood Bowl later in October.
