Dakota Johnson made a notable appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, presenting the inaugural Artist Director Award to Taylor Swift. Johnson, 36, wore a sheer, nude sequined gown that garnered attention.
Johnson presented the award to Swift at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The "Fifty Shades of Grey" actress's frock was complemented by a diamond necklace. Swift, who has directed 18 of her own music videos, received the award before debuting her new music video for "Patient Zero," which features Johnson, Colin Farrell, and Cara Delevingne.
The Artist Director Award marked Swift's 31st VMA win, setting a new record for the most awards in the ceremony's history, surpassing Beyoncé's previous record of 30. Swift also won Video of the Year for "The Fate of Ophelia." During her acceptance speech, Swift dedicated the award to the late Dolly Parton, calling her the "ultimate showgirl."
Johnson's public appearance comes amid swirling romance rumors linking her with Machine Gun Kelly. The pair were reportedly seen entering a New York apartment owned by Swift last week. Reports suggest Johnson and Kelly, 36, first met at Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce in July.
Johnson's past relationships include a six-year engagement with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, with whom she shares two children.
