Dakota Johnson Returns to Host 'Saturday Night Live' for Third Time
The actress will host the iconic sketch show on October 3rd, marking her third appearance as host.
Dakota Johnson is set to host NBC's "Saturday Night Live" for the third time on Saturday, October 3rd. This appearance also makes her one of the few hosts in the show's history to host on her birthday, as her birthday falls on October 4th. Johnson's previous "SNL" hosting duties were in 2015 to promote "Fifty Shades of Grey" and in January 2024 for "Madame Web."
This week's episode will feature hardcore punk band Turnstile as the musical guest, marking their "SNL" debut. The show airs live coast-to-coast at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT, though potential delays due to college football are noted.
For viewers without cable, "SNL" can be streamed for free through a five-day trial of DIRECTV's Choice plan, which includes NBC. Alternatively, a seven-day free trial of Peacock Premium is available, with new episodes typically streaming on Sunday mornings. The show is back for its 52nd season, with the October 3rd episode featuring Johnson and Turnstile. Future hosts for Season 52 are scheduled, including Shane Gillis and Rosalía on October 10th.
The "Saturday Night Live" Season 52 cast includes a mix of repertory and featured players, with Michael Che and Colin Jost returning for Weekend Update. The featured players for the season are Saidah Belo-Osagie, Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson, Grace Reiter, and Veronika Slowikowska.
