Actress Dakota Johnson, 36, has reportedly split from her boyfriend, musician Tucker Pillsbury, known as Role Model, 29, after approximately eight months of dating. The couple ended their relationship "a while ago," according to People.
Johnson and Pillsbury were first photographed together in Los Angeles in late December. Their relationship became more public when Johnson made a vocal appearance on Role Model's newly released album, "Chuck Timely & the Hourglass." The album debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
In a track titled "Love I You," Role Model features Johnson saying, "Hey, I think you're perfect," to which she responds, "You say that to everyone." The musician later told Rolling Stone that this interlude was his way of "publicly admitting the relationship," despite initial hesitations about mixing personal and professional life.
Role Model's previous album, "Kansas Anymore," released in 2024, was reportedly written about his 2023 breakup from influencer Emma Chamberlain. He described "Kansas Anymore" as a "heartbreak album" exploring themes of loneliness, while his current album, "Chuck Timely & the Hourglass," was created during a period of being single and navigating feelings of being lost and experiencing life crises.
Pillsbury is scheduled to begin a 34-date tour, "Chuck on Tour," on September 9 in Bend, Oregon. He is also set to make his acting debut in Lena Dunham's upcoming romantic comedy "Good Sex," which is slated for release later this year on Netflix.
Johnson previously ended a seven-year relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin last year. Her past relationships include dating musician Noah Gersh, Jordan Masterson, and Matthew Hitt.
Upcoming projects for Johnson include a role in Maggie Gyllenhaal's short film "Flesh Impact," which is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 7. She will also executive produce and star in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel "Verity," a psychological romance thriller scheduled for release in U.S. and U.K. theaters on October 2. Johnson is also slated to make her feature directorial debut with the coming-of-age drama "A Tree Is Blue."
