Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly Sought Privacy at Taylor Swift's NYC Apartment

Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly enlisted the help of Taylor Swift for a private evening in New York City. The pair were observed at Swift's Tribeca apartment on Friday night before attending dinner at the restaurant Estela.

A source told Page Six that Swift has previously allowed friends to use her New York properties, and Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, were seeking privacy. While Swift was reportedly not present at the apartment during their visit, a connection was felt between the two actors.

"Colson had a really nice time with Dakota. He thinks she’s really cool and obviously he’s attracted to her," the source stated. "They hit it off and there was definitely chemistry."

The source added that the connection is new and they are in the early stages of getting to know each other. "It wasn’t awkward or forced. They were vibing and had fun," the insider noted, emphasizing that the evening was not a grand romantic gesture but rather a casual gathering.

This is not the first time Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly have crossed paths in celebrity circles. Both attended the Vogue World: Hollywood event in October 2025 and were reportedly guests at Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding in July.

Johnson recently ended a relationship with singer Tucker Pillsbury, also known as Role Model, in August. Prior to that, she had a long-term relationship with Chris Martin. Machine Gun Kelly previously had an on-and-off relationship with Megan Fox, with whom he shares a daughter born in March 2025. He also has another daughter from a previous relationship.
