Dak Prescott Reflects on Cowboys' Struggles After Loss to Packers
Quarterback expresses frustration with the offense's performance following the team's latest defeat.
The Dallas Cowboys' challenging start to the 2026 season persisted Sunday night with a 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Quarterback Dak Prescott voiced his disappointment, particularly with the offense's inability to perform.
Prescott threw two interceptions in the game, a repeat of his performance during a Week 5 loss to the Buccaneers. This comes after the offense, which Prescott had dubbed "The Greatest Offense There Is" during training camp, struggled to generate points against the Packers. The Cowboys' offense achieved a success rate of only 31.4% throughout the game.
"The defense, to me, played a good enough game for us to go out there and win this, and we just didn’t hold our own on offense, and that’s what ultimately sucks about it," Prescott stated in his postgame remarks. "But that’s the NFL, and we’ve got to figure out a way to get better, and to get out of this rut, hole or whatever it is that we’ve been in these last two games."
Despite the trade of key defensive player Micah Parsons to the Packers in August 2025, the Cowboys' defense managed to hold Green Bay's offense in check for much of the game. However, the offensive struggles have contributed to the Cowboys' current 2-4 record, their worst through the first six games since the 2020 season.
Prescott's performance has seen a dip in recent weeks. He began the season strongly with eight touchdown passes and only one interception in his first four games. In the last two games, however, he has thrown two touchdowns and four interceptions.
The Cowboys will face the Eagles next on "Monday Night Football" in Week 7, seeking to improve their standing.
