Daisy Edgar-Jones Wows in Velvet Dress During 'Sense and Sensibility' Press Tour

Daisy Edgar-Jones recently turned heads in a striking black and gold velvet dress while attending a press event for her new film, "Sense and Sensibility." The 28-year-old British actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Hollywood to discuss the latest cinematic adaptation of Jane Austen's 1811 novel.

Edgar-Jones, known for her role in "Normal People," showcased her figure in a strapless Schiaparelli gown, complemented by towering black stilettos. She kept her accessories minimal and styled her brunette hair straight.

The film's reception has been mixed. While the Daily Mail's Brian Viner and The Times' Kevin Maher awarded it two stars, The Telegraph's Robbie Collins gave it a rare five stars, praising its fresh take on Austen's work.

Regarding her portrayal of Elinor Dashwood, Edgar-Jones shared her connection to the character's blend of sensitivity and strength. "I’ve always been attracted to women that are sensitive and strong-willed, but also deeply kind of internal," she said in an interview with the BBC. She identified more with Elinor's approach to emotion, stating, "When it comes to love, I think I am very much more Elinor in every sort of way. I definitely lead a lot with my head and try and push aside, bury my emotion."

She also reflected on how the role allowed her to embrace a "wilder, passionate side," which she felt she also learned to do. Edgar-Jones has been traveling globally to promote the film.

In a separate interview with Vogue, Edgar-Jones offered a rare glimpse into her three-year relationship with photographer Ben Seed. She noted that their demanding schedules can make spending time together challenging, but they strive to limit separations to no more than three weeks. Edgar-Jones also discussed her desire to become a mother and concerns about potential fertility issues due to endometriosis.

Her decision to move to east London to be closer to Seed, who lives in London Fields, led her to develop an appreciation for the area. The couple met on a blind date, and Edgar-Jones credits Seed with providing significant support, describing him as someone who "really champions me in a way that is so magic. I feel very safe and happy."
