Daisy Edgar-Jones captivated attendees at the Los Angeles premiere of "Sense and Sensibility" on Wednesday, gracing the red carpet alongside castmates Caitriona Balfe and Esme Creed-Miles. The film, an adaptation of Jane Austen's 1811 novel, is set to release in U.S. theaters on October 16.

Edgar-Jones, 28, embodied elegance in a cream-colored corset top with flowing shoulder detail, paired with a lavender satin skirt and open-toed heels. Her ensemble was accessorized with subtle makeup, featuring mascara, a light pink blush, and a rosy lip tint, allowing the outfit to be the focal point. She shared that her portrayal of Elinor Dashwood in the film resonated with her own personality, telling the BBC, "When it comes to love, I think I am very much more Elinor in every sort of way. I definitely lead a lot with my head and try and push aside, bury my emotion." She added that the character's ability to embrace a "wilder, passionate side" also influenced her personally.

The film's reception has been varied since its release in the U.K. last month. Some critics have drawn comparisons to the 1995 Ang Lee adaptation, with The Daily Mail's Brian Viner awarding it two stars and noting a loss of Austen's original charms. Conversely, The Telegraph's Robbie Collins lauded the film with five stars, praising its fresh performances and the "humanizing" effect of incorporating dogs into scenes.

Other reviews have offered a middle ground. The Times' Kevin Maher described the adaptation as "Austen by numbers, emotionally flat, dramatically uneven and bizarrely, bafflingly, conventional." The Independent's Clarisse Loughrey, however, awarded four stars, appreciating the modern take that "ramps up the yearning and earthiness of its source material" and highlighting the chemistry between Edgar-Jones and Esme Creed-Miles, who plays Marianne Dashwood.

On Rotten Tomatoes, "Sense and Sensibility" currently holds a critics score of 79%. At the premiere, other notable attendees included Esme Creed-Miles, who appeared in a strapless pink dress, and Caitriona Balfe, elegantly dressed in a sleeveless silver gown with a sheer black train. Lily Mo Sheen, daughter of Kate Beckinsale and Michael Sheen, also attended in an off-white strapless dress.
