Daisy Edgar-Jones Embraces Modern Style After Promoting Period Romance
The actress swapped Regency-inspired looks for contemporary fashion as she departed NBC Studios.
Daisy Edgar-Jones, known for her recent role in a Jane Austen adaptation, transitioned from Regency-era inspired attire to modern fashion choices as she was seen leaving NBC Studios in New York. The 28-year-old actress, who stars in the latest film adaptation of "Sense and Sensibility," was initially photographed in a pale blue satin mini skirt paired with a bird motif top and white stilettos.
Later in the day, Edgar-Jones changed outfits, opting for yellow leather trousers and another top featuring a bird design. This shift in wardrobe occurred as she actively promoted her new film, a period romance based on Jane Austen's 1811 novel. The film has received a range of critical reviews, with some publications awarding it two stars while others, like The Telegraph, gave it a five-star rating. The film currently holds a 79% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Edgar-Jones has spoken about her character, Elinor, in the film, describing her as someone who is sensitive and strong-willed but also deeply internal. She noted that Elinor is often characterized as the 'sense' to her sister Marianne's 'sensibility,' but Edgar-Jones sees Elinor as possessing significant sensibility that she skillfully manages. In a BBC interview, Edgar-Jones related to Elinor's approach to emotions, stating, "When it comes to love, I think I am very much more Elinor in every sort of way. I definitely lead a lot with my head and try and push aside, bury my emotion." She added that portraying the character allowed her to embrace a "wilder, passionate side," which she felt she also learned to do.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Edgar-Jones recently offered a glimpse into her three-year relationship with photographer Ben Seed, also known as Pip. She acknowledged the challenges of maintaining their relationship due to demanding schedules but stated they aim to avoid being apart for more than three weeks at a time. Edgar-Jones also expressed her desire to become a mother and shared concerns that her endometriosis might impact future fertility. Her decision to move to east London was influenced by her relationship, as Seed resides in the area. She described their meeting, which began with a blind date, and highlighted his significant support, saying, "He’s so supportive and really champions me in a way that is so magic. I feel very safe and happy." Edgar-Jones also produced Seed's first short film in 2024 and expressed interest in collaborating on larger projects in the future.
