Crystal Hefner, widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has drawn criticism from comedian Jon Lovitz after expressing remorse over her marriage to the late mogul. Hefner, who was 26 when she married an 86-year-old Hugh Hefner on New Year's Eve 2012, recently shared in an Instagram video that she regretted "making myself smaller so his world could feel bigger" and "learning to stay quiet when I could have spoken."

Lovitz, a friend of Hugh Hefner's who attended the wedding, responded to her post in the comments section, questioning her remorse. "Do you regret the house he bought for you to live in, after his death?" Lovitz wrote. "And keeping the money, after you sold it? And all the times your mother was at the mansion? And do you regret all he did for you? And do you regret leaving him and then coming back to marry him?"

Crystal Hefner, now 40, stated in her video that she regretted the "years I spent making myself smaller so his world could feel bigger" and "the version of myself that I had to abandon just to survive in that environment." She also expressed regret for not understanding the situation sooner.

According to reports, Crystal Hefner received a $5 million lump sum and a four-bedroom Hollywood Hills house from Hugh Hefner's estate after his death in 2017 at age 91. She later sold the house for an additional $5 million.

Hefner was a Playmate of the Month in 2009 and appeared on the E! series "The Girls Next Door." She and Hugh Hefner were engaged in 2010 but broke it off before marrying in late 2012. She had previously explained her initial hesitation by saying Hefner's lifestyle was "not the most normal lifestyle" and not suited for her.

In her 2022 memoir, "Only Say Good Things," Crystal Hefner wrote about her experiences at the Playboy Mansion, including procuring other women for orgies with Hefner, which she described as an act of power and control rather than intimacy. She also wrote about her relief at not having to be the sole sexual partner for Hefner, stating that she felt she was "auditioning for a part."

Crystal Hefner has since remarried and eloped with James Ward, a tour company owner from Hawaii, in April.
