Crystal Hefner Drops Last Name, Accuses Late Husband of Rape and Incest
The former Playboy model has changed her name back to Harris, stating she no longer wants to be associated with Hugh Hefner.
Crystal Hefner has officially dropped the last name of her late husband, Hugh Hefner, stating a desire to sever ties with him as she makes disturbing allegations of rape and incest.
"I am Crystal Harris and I wrestled back and forth because I’m like, ‘OK, I kinda earned this name and if I could use this name to do good for the world or for women … But then I thought, I don’t want to be tied to this man in any way,’" the former model and current podcast host told Page Six in an exclusive interview. "I don’t even like that last name."
Crystal, 40, who earned a Master’s Degree in psychology on November 6 and is pursuing a PhD, emphasized her desire for a clean break. "The last thing I want is a doctor to be associated with the Hefner name," she stated. "I am going after Crystal Harris. And so I was happy and proud to kick that last name off."
She noted that "Hefner" had become her identity for so long, but she now wishes to distance herself from it.
Crystal Hefner formally changed her last name back to Harris in 2025.
In a recent interview on the "Lisa Guerrero Unleashed" podcast, Crystal made serious accusations against Hugh Hefner, who died in 2017 at age 91. She alleged that the businessman once attempted to force twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon to engage in sexual activity with each other, describing the act as "incest" and "disgusting." Karissa Shannon had previously claimed that sex with Hugh Hefner was "like rape."
Crystal also claimed that Hugh Hefner forced her and other Playmates to use dirty sex toys, recounting an incident where she saw dirty toys being "shoved" into them.
A representative for Hugh Hefner's estate did not respond to requests for comment.
Crystal also spoke about the "regulars" at the Playboy Mansion, identifying individuals she considered to be "horrific, horrible men." She specifically mentioned Bill Cosby and Donald Trump as individuals who frequented the mansion, stating, "Hef surrounded himself with like-minded men."
She recalled attending the Playboy Jazz Festival, where she and others typically had to pose for photos with Bill Cosby, describing the encounters as "awkward" and noting that he was "always gross."
Crystal further alleged that the Playboy Mansion was nicknamed "Jack Nicholson’s drive-thru," suggesting he could visit the mansion to "collect what he needed and left."
The former playmate specifically called out actor Jon Lovitz, identifying him as the mansion’s "No. 1 customer" and describing him as "one of the biggest pervs" in Hollywood.
In a video response obtained by Page Six, Lovitz reacted to her claims by saying, "Any time someone says I’m No. 1, it’s a compliment." He also referred to Hugh Hefner as "one of the nicest, most generous people."
Crystal responded to Lovitz's comments, stating, "I think Jon Lovitz is part of the problem. I think many men who came up to that mansion [and] were very sexist and misogynistic are all part of that problem." She added, "If I could dismantle that toxic masculinity and patriarchy just a little bit, I will feel happy. It’s very sad."
Crystal Hefner was married to Hugh Hefner from 2011 until his death in 2017.
