Cruz Beckham has seemingly embraced his role as the family comedian, recently responding with humor to a troll who called him and his siblings "ugly." The youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham posted a meme of comedian Druski looking confused while pointing to himself, a clapback that garnered nearly 70,000 likes.
This latest quip comes amid ongoing public statements from his elder brother, Brooklyn Beckham, who has detailed a significant rift within the family. Brooklyn claimed in a statement earlier this year that his parents have controlled narratives in the press and that their family life is "performative." He also alleged that his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name and that his mother, Victoria, made his wife, Nicola Peltz, uncomfortable at their wedding.
Cruz has appeared to address these claims through a series of social media posts that fans have interpreted as humorous jabs at Brooklyn and Peltz. Following Brooklyn's assertion that Victoria danced "very inappropriately" on him at his wedding, the internet saw a surge of memes, several of which Cruz was seen to have liked. He also shared a TikTok video with his brother Romeo and their girlfriends captioned, "Imagine hating and we’re just here like..."
Brooklyn's statement also claimed that his brothers Romeo and Cruz were "sent to attack him" on social media, leading him to block them. However, Cruz has publicly refuted some of the claims made by Brooklyn.
When rumors circulated that David and Victoria Beckham had unfollowed Brooklyn on Instagram, Cruz stated, "NOT TRUE My mum and dad would never unfollow their son... They woke up blocked… as did I." He also clarified that Brooklyn and Kim Turnbull, who was rumored to have dated Brooklyn, "never dated."
Cruz has also appeared to mimic remarks made by Brooklyn. After Peltz commented "so beautiful mia" on a post by Romeo's ex, Mia Regan, Cruz later posted "So beautiful Romeo" under a gallery of snaps shared by his brother, who responded with laughing emojis before deleting the comment. In May, after Brooklyn posted a gushing caption declaring he would "always choose" Peltz, Cruz reposted a family photo from Victoria Beckham's Paris Fashion Week show, writing, "I love my family, I love you guys more than anything, mum & dad gave us life and cared for us no matter what..."
In another instance, when asked if he would switch careers like his brother, who has explored photography, styling, and sports, Cruz responded, "Wrong brother mate," seemingly alluding to Brooklyn's varied pursuits.
Brooklyn has stated that he does not wish to reconcile with his family and is seeking peace and privacy away from the public eye and what he describes as his parents' "manipulation."
