Brooklyn Beckham has previously spoken out about his fractured relationship with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, stating that he does not wish to reconcile with them. In a detailed statement, he claimed his parents have controlled narratives in the press about their family for years and that their social media posts and relationships have been inauthentic.
He alleged that his parents have repeatedly tried to ruin his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, since before their wedding. He also claimed that his mother, Victoria Beckham, cancelled making Peltz's wedding dress at the last minute. Weeks before the wedding, Brooklyn stated his parents pressured and attempted to bribe him into signing away the rights to his name, which would have impacted his wife and future children.
Brooklyn also recounted an incident at his wedding where he felt his mother hijacked his first dance with his wife, Nicola. He stated that his mother danced "inappropriately" with him in front of guests, causing him to feel humiliated. He also mentioned that family members told him Peltz was "not blood" and "not family" the night before the wedding.
According to Brooklyn, his family values public promotion and endorsements above all else, with "Brand Beckham" taking precedence over family bonds. He shared an instance where his mother refused to help save displaced dogs during the LA fires when asked by his wife, despite the family's public image of unity.
