Critics are calling for the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle following allegations that she pressured a Republican donor to pay off a $100,000 debt. The claims stem from a report by The Wall Street Journal, which detailed text messages between Guilfoyle and the donor, Eric Deters.

According to the Journal, Guilfoyle sent messages via the Signal app to Deters, urging him to pay the debt directly to American Express. "Honey please I need you to get this done for me today," she reportedly wrote. Deters, who was seeking the administration's assistance with tax issues, declined the request, stating he could not fulfill it without jeopardizing his marriage.

Further exchanges cited in the report indicate Deters expressed dissatisfaction with Guilfoyle's perceived lack of action on his behalf, writing, "I have paid you $300,000 over the years. As of this memo, I have not received one favor. I am not naive or a sucker. I need results."

Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host and ex-fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., also allegedly advised Deters against documenting their communications. "Eric, I really wish you would stop papering all these things," she reportedly wrote. "It’s really dangerous and not helpful to you or me while you could simply just call me on signal."

Deters reportedly told the Journal that Guilfoyle "never came through on anything." A representative for Guilfoyle told the newspaper that she questioned the authenticity of the messages. This report follows previous allegations detailed by The Wall Street Journal concerning Guilfoyle's meetings with a lobbyist regarding gas deals.

The new allegations have drawn sharp criticism from political commentators and figures on social media. Many have echoed sentiments of corruption and have called for Guilfoyle's immediate resignation. The reports have fueled broader discussions about ethics and conduct within political circles associated with the Trump administration.

Kimberly Guilfoyle, who also delivered a notable speech at the 2020 Republican National Convention, was appointed as the U.S. Ambassador to Greece. Her tenure has now come under scrutiny due to these financial and influence-related allegations.
